The Build

Star date - 2020-07-15

The DQSC Rowing boat hull now nearly completed. What a great colour it is too!  You can now see some more photos of hull in build. It is inverted for the gelcoat polishing and Gary the long boat builder is preparing the inside for the white flow coating. The next process will be to turn the boat back over and continue the interior fit out. The builders are still on a skeleton staff  but they will be very close to finishing the long boat by the end of this week. A further update will follow on Friday.

Start date - 2020-06-26

Dell Quay Sailing Club have ordered a Dale Celtic Longboat, a coxed four person coastal rowing boat for delivery at the end of July 2020.

This is an exciting new venture for the club. It broadens the appeal of the club which has already embraced SUPs and Victoria yachts to give members a range of activities to pursue in line with RYA policy to diversify the activities offered by sailing clubs to the community.

It will provide a fantastic opportunity for all members to get out on the water whether they have rowed before or not. We have an excellent area of water for rowing with plenty of space for launching and recovery of the rowing boat.

News will be posted regularly about the arrangements for the delivery of the new boat and training for coxes which is now the priority so that we get as many people as possible out on the water rowing this summer. The rowing boat will be in use throughout the year with all sorts of possibilities for racing as well as casual rowing around the harbour and further afield.
