Once again, we had a very successful Victoria Day. Our thanks go to all those that brought contributions for our marvellous high tea. Chris made wonderful cakes (or so he said?), Sarah made some wonderful cheesy thingies, Dave made the scones and Liz provided splendid wine to toast Queens past and present (apologies if we forgot anybody) Thanks also to all our helpers.

Having eaten our fill, we set sail, only to be rapidly blown back into the clubhouse. A short break while the wind abated as forecast and we took to the water again.

It was still windy but sailable. Rob won the first two races and then, in a very rare event (really who wrote that) Robs boat broke leaving Chris and Tim to battle for the highly desirable Victoria trophy.

In the final race between Tim and Chris there was a tight race to the first mark where Chris having hit the seaweed watched Tim sail off into the sunset; fortunately, Tim came to his senses quickly and returned to the course and won the Race and Trophy. Congratulations Tim
