Yes, you have read that correctly, Junior Week this year runs from SUNDAY to Friday.  The reason is the early high tide on the Monday morning (10 a.m.) which means that all the usual first morning preparations and activities will need to be carried out on the Sunday.  This will include Fleet introductions and activities, plus the first sailing group briefing/instruction.  We haven’t agreed a time yet for the Sunday, but it is likely to be a couple of hours in the afternoon and will coincide with the usual parents meeting and boat marking.  Please DO NOT apply for a place if you are unable to attend on this day.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING

The registration process will be the same 2 stage process we successfully used last year. Once published at 2pm on Saturday 26th January, the link from this page will take you to the Stage 1 Registration Form, which simply captures the number of juniors to be registered, and the time of registration. On completion of this form, you will automatically be directed to the Stage 2 Registration Form, which captures all the details needed to allocate places. This second form MUST be submitted to complete the registration process.

Places will generally be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, but will take the following into account:

  • sailing qualifications gained at past Junior Weeks.
  • sailing qualifications gained elsewhere.
  • sailing ability if no qualification held.
  • recent sailing experience.

You will need to provide this information during the registration process, so please have it to hand.  We follow the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme during the week, and the Juniors may be awarded an RYA certificate at the end of the week. Therefore, it is important to us that we know the Juniors current qualifications, ability and experience when allocating places. It may be decided that some Juniors should stay in the same sailing group as last year to consolidate their skills.

Please note that Juniors aged 6 and 7 will be Sea monsters and attend from Tues 30th July to Thurs 1st August only. All other Juniors will attend for the full week.
Please do not register if you cannot meet the following criteria:

  • You can only register Juniors for whom you are the Parent or Grandparent within their club membership, and membership fees for the current year have been paid.
  • For all Juniors aged 10 or under, either a Parent or Grandparent from within their club membership will need to attend for the whole week (Tues – Thurs for Sea monsters).
  • For all Juniors aged 11 or over, either a Parent or Grandparent from within their club membership will need to attend for 2 days within the week.
  • Dogs will not be permitted at the club during the week (with the exception of guide/support dogs).

The cost for Junior Week this year will be £136 (or £100 if able to provide own dinghy).

For Sea monsters, the cost will be £82 (or £61 if able to provide own dinghy).

Finally, the number of Juniors we can accept onto Junior Week depends on the number of instructors and safety boats available to us. If you have a RIB or other suitable boat that we could use as a safety boat, please can you let us know at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
