Recent losses and damage in the dinghy park

It has come to our attention that up to five boats have had their covers slashed with what appears to be a sharp knife. Some foils and sails have been removed.  This has been reported to West Sussex police.  They have advised that each member affected is required to report the criminal damage and theft.

They advise as follows:
Please ask all the victims to report this individually to Sussex Police, we will need full details of property stolen or damaged.  The crime reference number for your third party report is 47170064681.

For your information the Sussex Police Website has online reporting forms which can be used to report various incident types to us. We also have online Advice pages offering additional information and guidance.

We do not yet know the full extent of the damage to members boats, and importantly we do not know what may have been stolen.

We are meeting in the dinghy park at 10.45 on Saturday 13th May to check if any other boats have been affected. Once we have a full list we will then contact owners so that they can report the incident to Sussex police and the club so that we have a record.

Anyone aware of damage and missing items are asked to complete an online report  with the details of the damage and what if anything has been stolen.  If you have any information in relation to the incident please email so we can inform the relevant authorities.

Many Thanks
