Cruiser Forum with Supper on Saturday 7 February 2026

Over thirty cruiser members met up in a warm and dry Club house for our first Cruiser Forum with Supper. There was plenty of chat about progress being made on winter boat works with hints and information exchanged on topics ranging from prop shaft alignment to exhaust temperature alarms. A delicious baked potato with beef and chorizo or veggie chilli filling followed by a selection of desserts was prepared by Pam and her galley helpers Jade, Martin and Ron and enjoyed by all.
Our varied summer rally programme was outlined by Ron, Sue and rally leaders with photos of sunny weather and perfect sailing conditions giving us all something to look forward to. The programme includes early season shake-down rallies to Bembridge and Gosport followed by Cowes, Beaulieu BBQ, Gins Farm and RSYC, Hamble River, The Folly Inn and Hardway SC. The longer cruises go down to Yarmouth and the Round the Wight and out west to Poole area and maybe Weymouth or Portland with a favourable wind. The flexible Solent Saunter is a short hops pick and mix cruise around the Solent . There are also day sails to Priory Bay on Isle of Wight and around the harbour with a picnic at East Head; both are in company with the dinghy cruisers.
New for this year is a proposed channel crossing 8 – 13 June checking into Cherbourg and after a days rest going on around Pointe de Barfleur to the marina at St Vaast-La-Hougue. Look out for further information coming soon.
Many thanks to Barrie and John in the Bar, John N and all those who helped to clear up.
Next event: Second Hand Sale on Saturday 28 February 10:30 to 14:30
